When I was back home, I always thought that my holidays and long weekends left much to be desired. There was always something more that I thought should be there.
I never thought I’d actually get to have the weekends and holidays I use to want so bad.
This weekend is Ocean Day. Now, I’m on school holidays until September 1st (six weeks paid vacation!), so I’m taking it easy. Since I live near the ocean, and most don’t, I invited my friends down for Ocean Day. It really has been a great weekend so far. Becca and Laura came down to visit on Saturday with their friend Ian. We got to go all over Yokosukachuo, went shopping. On Sunday, even more people came down, and we all spent the day at the beach. It was such a fun day, despite the sunburn I now have. My bed finally showed up from Ikea, and I was able to let Lindsay and two of her friends stay at my place because they wanted to go to the beach again today, which is the long weekend day. We’re going to head back to Yokosuka today to go shopping again, and then more beach! I’ll be wearing a teeshirt this time, because ohhh am I in pain. But it’s fun.
This is how I always wanted to be spending my holidays. With friends, in the sun, spending as much time as possible doing stuff. It’s been great, despite the fact I’ll be sleeping for ages once it’s over and the place is quiet. I haven’t been able to call home, I hope mom and dad don’t worry too much. I’ll call tonight. 🙂
