It’s Autumn, which is when many people begin their hibernation habits by picking up new series to watch and binge watching TV regularly. I’m not really a series watcher, but I am a big fan of watching YouTube the same way people watch regular shows. The fun thing about YouTube is that there is no paywall or subscription needed, so it’s really easy to share your favourite content with anyone. With that in mind, I wanted to share some of the YouTube content creators what I’m watching regularly.

I Wake Up With BT! - Breakfast Television

My mum got me hooked on watching Breakfast Television over the summer when she told me that I could watch the live broadcast through either YouTube or Facebook. I like the fact that it’s quite lighthearted with mentions of news so I’m not completely in the dark about the world. I don’t really watch the news anymore because it’s the easiest way to get me depressed, so I appreciate the headlines without the drama. Most of the morning is fun and has me laughing as I get ready for the day.

All My Favourite Travel Content

Peter and Kitra are life goals for me. They are around the same age as me, they live in California and get to indulge in their love for Star Wars and Disney by going to theme parks and cruise ships and sharing all their tips and tricks. I love the fact that they both seem to strike a balance between being functioning adults that get to love what they love without giving off “Disney Adult” vibes that can put a lot of people off. They go to every park available to them, and their videos have made me add Knotts Berry Farm to my list of places I’d like to visit. I genuinely watch their content because it both makes me happy and inspires me because they just seem to have the balance I’d like to have one day. Also, I have a trip planned on the Disney Wish in the new year and I have found their content the best because they don’t seem put off by the changes because they use other cruise lines too.

Ahoy there cruisers! I’m pretty sure that Ben and David are the reason I have been completely converted to a cruise craver. Their content is so wonderfully wholesome and amazingly produced, I really appreciate the hard work they put into their videos. They post weekly and cruise regularly, so there is always new content to watch on Sundays. I also like the fact they are not afraid to give a negative review if needed, but they don’t dwell on the negatives either. I find they are balanced and fair, and they cover a LOT of cruise lines. Their personalities are hilarious too, so while you’ll come for the cruise reviews, you’ll stay for Ben’s hilarious reactions to delicious food.

Remember me mentioning the appeal of Ordinary Adventures is that they are able to find the balance between being normal adults without being “Disney Adults”? Adam Hattan smashes through that balance and lives and thrives in the full Disney Adult lifestyle. He completely owns his passion for Disney and has used it to his success. He does weekly vlogs that break down his trips by day, so you get a whole day experience in an episode, and he doesn’t edit much either. Adam’s content is great because it can be as short as 30 minutes but go as long as 90 minutes long. There are episodes I like to have on in the background because the banter he has with Gary C (his professional +1) is hilarious and always cheers me up. The video that I’ve linked below was on DAILY as I was getting ready for my Disney Cruise back in May because the pure joy is infectious (even though it’s longer than many Disney movies at 2 hours.)

Flying The Nest is a new subscription for me. Stephen and Jess are two Australians travelling the globe with their toddler Hunter, and have been sharing their adventures for about 8 years. I find their content really interesting because they cover a LOT of places and go all over the world. I like their more recent content because I think the addition of Hunter makes their content really unique. I really like the editing done on these videos, and you can see a lot of growth when you look back at the content from before they were married to now. One series they did was travelling around the circumference of Australia in a van, something that many people dream of but not even the local Australians can do, so it’s fun to live vicariously through them. I do find it hard to binge watch their content because is very carefully curated and I sometimes find the content harder to relate to because their life looks perfect, which is not always a great thing.
Also, if you like content with kids, you’re in luck – they just started sharing content about their second pregnancy! Hurray for new baby content.

Traditional YouTube Content

I have been a Try Guys fan for a very long time, so of course they have a spot on this list. I stopped watching for a while, but after the big shakeup from their very dramatic September, the things I stopped liking about the Try Guys previously had been removed (aka Ned) and they seemed to find their spark to be fun and happy again. The content has been very joyous lately, and the addition of other staff to their videos makes thing even better. A major shoutout to the Broadway series where one of them got to debut on Beetlejuice. Not only did it cater to every interest I have, it also opened my eyes up to a musical I haven’t looked too much into so I appreciate the new show to love!

Also, between Eat the Menu and Without a Recipe, their food content is hilarious chaos.

After everything I’ve listed so far, this one is COMPLETELY different. I started watching Cathrin because of her content about creating content on YouTube. I like the fact she is very open about her income and the different methods she uses to bring in new forms of income. Over the past 6 months though, her content has changed dramatically with the purchase of her dream house. All of her content is about the house renovation, which is very different but also very enjoyable. I think my favourite part about her content is that she isn’t based in some major media hub, but in some small city in the Alabama or somewhere. It’s nice to see her success without needing to change her life dramatically, and you can see her have a LOT of success and growth because she’s not living somewhere where the cost of living is ridiculous.

Of course I need to add my own YouTube channel! The Bredin Digital channel is a mishmash of content from the business with some travel content as well. I vlogged my trip on the Disney Dream, and people seemed to really enjoy that content, so it definitely has made me want to create more travel content. You can see a full list of my video content over on the video page on my site (including content made for clients on their own channels.)
