Well, I’m sprawled out on my floor, Music Station on the TV, really unhealthy chicken in the microwave, and finally feeling relaxed for the first time in ages. So relaxed, I can’t be bothered to get up to get my chicken. Ahaha.
Anyways, to sum up the past few days: they’ve been stressful. I’m not getting into it, but it’s just been really tough. Thank goodness, my students continue to keep me happy, even when I’m stressed out of my mind.
I FINALLY have my cell phone! It’s hot pink, gets television for free, and could kick your phone’s ass in an awesome competition. 😀 I also have my bank account and my foreigner certificate until I get the official card.
This is me with my kids who have really taken to me, some of the kids from 3-1. The girl on my shoulder is Eli-chan, the bilingual girl from Washington. She has been an absolute godsend, and her now daily visits have been wonderful. Today we were talking about her time in the US. She’s been in Japan for only a year, but she can already tell her English is slipping. It’s easy to happen, especially at her age. I think that’s why she visits me as much as she does, just to make sure she gets some English in every day. Plus, of course, the fact that I’m awesome has to mean something. 😀 These kids are SO sweet though. They have absolutely no concept of personal space though, and it’s not uncommon for me to have some girl attached to my waist, or playing with my hair, or holding my hand as I walk around. They often don’t know what I’m saying, but it doesn’t seem to matter. Today, I decided to say to hell with the office, and me and Eli went out at recess, and I got to play with them. I didn’t do much, since I was still in work clothes, but we went on the see-saw, which was really fun.
This weekend is my first weekend off since… I can’t remember. I think Mother’s Day. It’s been go go go since then. So tomorrow, I’m meeting my friend Becca in Yokohama, which is where I did my training. We have absolutely BRILLIANT tickets to an event hosted by my most favourite actor ever. I’ve been looking forward to this show since I found out about getting in to Interac, and I’ve been looking forward to having this opportunity for… a year or two, at least. I was so relieved to get tickets, I didn’t even notice the seat until today – we’re in the 4th row, centre. EXCITED DOESN’T EVEN BEGIN TO COVER IT. 😀
And, it’s finally stopped raining. For two days at least. The weather is suppose to be good tomorrow, so I’m hoping I can get some good photos from Minato Mirai!
thank goodness for Eli-chan
your guardian angel!
